Event Terms and Conditions
1. Definitions:
“the Congress” means THE THIRD INTERNATIONAL SPIRITIST CONGRESS JOANNA DE ANGELIS.
“the Congress Organisers” are the Spiritist Society of Bournemouth, referred to here as “our”, ”us” or “we”. Our registered address is 36 Taverner Close, Poole, BH15 1UW, United Kingdom.
The Spiritist Society of Bournemouth is a charity registered in England with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (charity number 1209922.) to advance the principles of Spiritism for the benefit of the public by promoting the study and practice of the Spiritist teachings. The Congress programme is the result of collaboration between us and other Spiritist charities.
“you” refers to the person named in the booking registration.

3. These Terms and Conditions
These pages define the terms and conditions on which the Congress organisers enable you to book with us and pay for a place atTHE THIRD INTERNATIONAL SPIRITIST CONGRESS JOANNA DE ANGELISwhich will be held between 12th and 14thSeptember 2025 at the Conference Centre.
When a person books to attend the Congress they enter into a contract with the Congress organisers,
Our website (https://www.internationalcongressjoanna.com) and these Terms and Conditions are produced in English and are also available translated into Portuguese. If there is any variation in meaning between the English and Portuguese versions, the English version shall prevail.
4. Our Website
Our website (https://www.internationalcongressjoanna.com) has details of the Congress including the programme, Conference Centre facilities, accommodation, meals, registration packages, bookings and prices, and includes links for customers to buy places at the Congress.
This website is owned and operated by . These Terms set forth the terms and conditions under which you may use our website and services as offered by us. This website offers visitors to make and pay for a booking with us for a place atThe Third International Spiritist Congress Joanna De Angelis which will be held between 12th and 14thSeptember 2025 at the Conference Centre. By accessing or using the website of our service you approve that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. Before you can purchase a place at the Congress on our website, you must indicate that you have read and agree to the event’s policies.
5. Use of our website
In order to use our website and/or receive our services, you must be at least 18 years of age and of the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, and possess the legal authority, right and freedom to enter into these Terms as a binding agreement. You are not allowed to use this website and/or receive services if doing so is prohibited in your country or under any law or regulation applicable to you.
6. The Congress venue
The venue, meeting rooms and facilities, bedrooms and meals at High Leigh Conference Centre are contractually provided to the Congress team by the venue’s proprietors - the Christian Conference Trust. Bookings for attending the Congress/ Conference Centre can only be placed through the Congress organisers. The Conference Centre does not accept bookings from individuals.
7. Key commercial Terms offered to customers
We are a registered charity operating on a not-for-profit basis. When buying a ticket for the Congress or any other services from our website you agree that: (i) you are responsible for reading the full item listing before making a commitment to buy it; (ii) you enter into a legally binding contract to purchase an item when you commit to buy an item and you complete the check-out payment process. The prices we charge for using our services / for our products are listed on the website. We reserve the right to change our prices for products displayed at any time, and to correct pricing errors that may inadvertently occur. Additional information about pricing and sales tax is available on the payments page.
8. Price Packages, Booking and Payment
Ticket prices of the Congress are listed on the Congress website and are in British Pounds, inclusive of VAT. Prices listed are per person, not per room.
Different Packages with different ticket prices apply for attendance at the Congress as shown on the Congress website:

Package One - is for attendance at the Congress including registration, bedroom accommodation for two nights Friday 12th and Saturday 13th September, with meals;

Package Two - is for attendance at the Congress including registration and meals but not bedroom accommodation;
-
Package Three - is for attendance at the Congress is for registration only, without bedroom accommodation and without meals.
For Packages One and Two the meals provided by the Conference Centre are Dinner on Friday; Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on Saturday; and Breakfast and Lunch on Sunday. All three Packages include tea and coffee refreshments.
Early bird discounts and provision for payments by instalments are listed on the website, subject to the dates of availability shown there.
We reserve the right, from time to time, to amend prices, instalment details and payment dates shown on our website, but such amendments shall not apply to bookings for which you have already been sent a Booking Confirmation.
We reserve the right, from time to time, to run promotional Special Offers which may include, but are not limited to, price promotions. In the event of a Special Offer, additional terms and conditions may apply which will be made available at the time of booking.
9. To make your booking
Bookings can only be accepted for persons aged 18 years and over.
You may place and pay for your ticket online through our website by credit card or PayPal. Your payments are processed by a secure payment collection service provided by Wix Payments. All payments are subject to a service charge levied by our payment collection service provider. The service charge for the ticket will be displayed separately from the ticket price at checkout.
Places at the Congress are limited. Places available at the time of your booking will be allocated in order of receipt of bookings. Bookings will not be accepted beyond the places available.
To successfully process your online booking, our website will take your name, address and other details, and then you will be transferred to a secure page to enter your credit card or PayPal details and finalise the payment process. Wix will need to know certain information about you to process payment for the booking. By proceeding with your booking, you thereby consent to provide Wix with such information. Your credit card details will be kept secure by Wix and will not be revealed to the Congress organisers.
10. Payments
All payments for your booking shall be payable prior to the commencement of the Congress.
If you pay for your ticket in full instead of in instalments, your payment is due at the time you place your order.
Depending on the date you place your order, you may be eligible to opt to pay in three or two instalments (where available, as shown on our website). The first instalment is due at the time of placing your order. You will receive an email from us with the link to pay the other instalment (s). The second instalment is due 30 days after the date of placing your order. The third instalment is due 60 days after the date of placing your order.
Please Unless we are proven to be fraudulent or negligent, we will not be liable to you for any losses caused as a result of unauthorised access to the personal and transactional information that you provide us when making a booking.
11. Confirmation of Booking
After making a booking, you will receive an email from us acknowledging that we have received your booking request. Please note that your booking is not confirmed until full payment has been received.
12. Extras
Subject to availability, additional meals provided by the Conference Centre may be ordered through the Congress organisers and must be paid for in advance. Prices are available on request. Subject to availability, extra nights’ accommodation before and/or after the Congress may be booked through the Congress organisers and must be paid for in advance. Prices are available on request. These terms and conditions also apply to any bookings placed for additional meals and for extra nights’ accommodation before or after the Congress.
13. Arrival and departure
You may arrive at the Conference Centre on Friday 12 September 2025 from 3 pm.
Bedrooms are only for participants who have purchased Package One tickets. Bedrooms will be available from 3 pm on the day of arrival. All bedrooms are allocated as ‘run-of-house’, meaning that specific bedroom locations cannot be reserved.
Bedrooms must be vacated by 10 am on the day of departure, Sunday 14th September 2025. The Congress finishes at 2.30 pm after lunch on Sunday.
14. Code of Conduct
By placing your booking for the Congress you agree to conduct yourself lawfully, safely and respectfully at all times when at the Conference Centre. You are liable for any loss or damage which you may cause to the Conference Centre property.
You agree to adhere to the Terms and Conditions, housekeeping rules, procedures and policies (including policies as to behaviour and conduct) that may be in place at the Conference Centre from time to time. In particular, you agree to adhere to the following rules set by the Conference Centre:

In compliance with current licensing laws the Conference Centre operates a no-smoking policy within the premises including the use of e-cigarettes. Smoking areas are provided.

Dogs and other pets are not permitted on or within the Conference Centre premises, with the exception of assistance dogs which need the prior agreement of the Conference Centre management.

The Conference Centre prohibits the use of drones, lanterns, fireworks, smoke machines and pyrotechnics.

The Conference Centre premises are licensed premises and comply with food hygiene regulations, and therefore neither pre-prepared food nor alcoholic drinks are permitted to be brought onto the premises.

Only food and drink supplied by the Conference Centre may be consumed on the premises.
15. Congress Content
We reserve the right to change the programme of the Congress published on our website (but not the overall content), for example to timings and/or speakers if one or more advertised speakers cannot attend. In such cases, you will not be entitled to a refund.
16. Rights in Materials
All copyright and other rights (including all intellectual property rights) in materials provided to you during or for the purposes of the Congress are the property of the Congress organisers or of our speakers. You are entitled to use such materials only for your own personal use. You are not entitled to copy such materials (except as permitted by law), nor are you entitled to use or authorise others to use such materials for commercial purposes.
17. Security
Personal belongings, valuables, computers and other equipment (including motor vehicles)brought onto the Conference Centre site are the responsibility of the owner and are not covered by the Conference Centre’s insurance. Public Liability insurance is in place at the venue. Attendees at the Conference Centre are required to keep their personal belongings in their locked bedrooms or with them at all times.
18. Publicity images
We may use photographs or recorded images taken at the Congress in publicity materials and for promoting our charitable purposes, including use on Websites. Your attendance at the Congress may mean that you are featured in these images, and you are deemed not to object to the taking of such images. Should you not wish to appear in any images, please notify the Congress organisers prior to the images being taken.
19. Refund and Cancellation Policy
You will be prompted to agree to our Refund and Cancellation Policy when making your booking online and payment. The fees for registration, meals and accommodation cannot be refunded. If you are unable to attend the Congress, please notify the organisers in advance by email: internationalcongressjoanna@gmail.com .
20. Events Outside our Control
The Congress organisers shall not be liable for the non-availability of facilities or for delay or cancellation of the whole or part of the Congress, if such non-availability or such delay or cancellation is due to a Force Majeure Event caused by circumstances or events outside their reasonable control. If we cancel your booking in such circumstances we shall have no liability for losses or costs which you may incur due to such cancellation.
A Force Majeure Event includes any act, event, non-happening, omission or accident beyond the Congress organisers' reasonable control and includes (without limitation) the following:

Strikes or industrial action;

Riot, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war;

Fire, explosion, storm, flood, drought, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic or other natural disaster;

Impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport;
-
Any law or any action taken by a government or public authority;
-
Collapse of buildings, fire, explosion or accident;
-
Non-performance by suppliers or sub-contractors (which are reasonably necessary for the event to go ahead);
-
Interruption or failure of utility service;
-
Scheduling of urgent maintenance and/or major refurbishment work at the Conference Centre;
-
A proposed sale of the centre premises; and
-
The acts, legislation, regulations or restrictions of any government, licensing or local authority.
21. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Spiritist Society of Bournemouth be liable for any indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, including without limitation, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to the use of, or inability to use, the service. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law,the Spiritist Society of Bournemouth assumes no liability or responsibility for any (i) errors, mistakes, or inaccuracies of content; (ii) personal injury or property damage of any nature whatsoever resulting from your access to or use of our service; and (iii) any unauthorized access to or use of our secure servers and/or any and all personal information stored therein.
22. Right to change and modify Terms and Conditions
We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions from time to time at our sole discretion. Therefore, you should review these pages periodically. When we change the Terms and Conditions in a material manner, we will notify you that material changes have been made to them. Your continued use of the Website or our service after any such change constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to any of these Terms and Conditions or any future version of them, do not use or access (or continue to access) the website or the service.
